Member of Parliament for the Porto electoral district (since 2002).
Deputy Vice-Rector of the University of Porto (1998-1999).
Head of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (1998-1999).
Member of the National Secretariat of the Socialist Party (since 2006).
Member of the Parish Council of Nevogilde (1994-1999).
